What does “Delta 2 Alpha” mean?

D2A is an abbreviated form of the nicknames used by the original partners in the company: Dante and Ace. As some may already know:  In the phonetic alphabet: Alpha is A and Delta is D.

Delta (Δ) can refer change. ie ΔT refers to a change in Temperature. Alpha ( Α ) refers to the first, best, or strongest

Who are the people behind Delta 2 Alpha?

We grew up in Rural Areas: Hunting, Shooting, Trapping, Fishing, and working with you hands was the  baseline. After having used a variety of tools ranging from “Box Cutters to Bullwhips to Brownings” we learned what we liked, what worked well, and what didn’t. First and foremost, we design our gear to be For Us , By Us. Over the years, many would see our custom gear, or stuff we “HotRod’d Up”, and the questions of “Who? What? Where? Why? How? (W5)” quickly followed. At a certain point it became our mission to be able to Provide Great People, with Great Gear they could get off the shelf.

The people involved with Delta 2 Alpha have backgrounds in machining, manufacturing, engineering, textiles, sewing, pattern drafting, trades work, martial arts and combatives, military, and emergency services. Most importantly we are end users of our designs. This means we are committed making products we are proud of and products that don’t suck. We don’t have an interest in fixing what isn’t broken or in putting a new item out every 6 months just because.

What do you mean by a “Hard Use” product?

“Hard Use” to us means that the product will stand up to the rigors of normal field use by the emergency/rescue personal or Joe/Jane Citizen that was called upon as the first responder on scene. With that being said, we can’t guarantee the performance of our products when they are abused or put through blatant torture tests.

For example: A knife makes a very poor and very expensive pry bar; Taking a polymer products and sub cooling it with liquefied N2, dry ice, etc and then hitting it with a hammer to shatter it, does not count as intended use. We cannot be held accountable for abuse, misuse, and torture test. In short if you set out to break it, we trust you will find a way.

If one of our products breaks, and it is our fault, we will take care of it. If one of our products breaks and it is your fault… contact us anyways, and we will find a way to “bridge you”.

Can I hire Delta 2 Alpha to work on projects for my team?

Yes, We have also been involved in the development of Armor, Stab/Slash vests, Escape tools, Entry tools, as well working in the developmental and prototyping process for a variety of projects for special interest groups.

Depending on the nature of the projects, certain paperwork and clearances are required.
